Official: Coal firms gain export profit even with discount
MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Russian coal companies export coal at a 50–60% discount amid external restrictions, but the exports are still profitable, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said at a forum on Thursday.
“We have coal discounts of 50–60%. That is, a downward deviation of our contract prices, which the coal companies conclude, they are forced to sell coal at approximately half of the market price. But it turns out to be OK, it is still profitable and quite acceptable,” he said.
He added that the same applies to mineral fertilizers.
